Top 16 tracks on Our Kenyan EDM Playlists for 2018

The first half of 2018 has seen  the release of massive jams and that is why this post was made. The interest and love for EDM in Kenya is intensifying each day as legit jams continue to hit the airwaves. Existing for the sole purpose of sharing good music, we thought it great to note down in text some of these jams  released this year that we’ve had on high rotation on LionafriQ Radio.

Adriel Lamaj x KK x Rabudi – U-PHORIA  [Chillstep]

Deities listen to Chillstep.  The ambience on this track is on another level and the female vocals add so much tranquil to create a masterpiece.

INCGT – Depressed

Perhaps that’s exactly what the composer intended,  is it the influence of it’s title?  Well, I thought this ambient piece is one of those cool ‘sad’ tracks that you’d love to have in your playlist.  INCGT’s first track on soundcloud dates  only 3 months back as I type this. A new force to recon.

ATTLAS – Further (KMRU  Remix)

Joseph Kamaru has certainly been setting his pace in Kenya’s EDM scene, with the latest being a remix to Further by Attlas, a Canadian Dj. This ambient masterpiece has  been well recieved with over 16K views on soundcloud.

Stacy Kamatu ft. KASHAN – Way You Move

This EDM remix gave a whole new life to the original track.   It combines everything – a very beautiful voice, great production and epic song writing.

Naiboi – 4Mulla [Zopre Remix] 

The energy and composition is just too good. And it does sound way better than the original, that’s for sure!

Imran – Beautiful Creature (Original Mix)

#125BPM Imran is your go to Dj for that Tech, Funky or Deep House.  Beautiful Creature is of the latter genre, insisting on the love and pride of being us Africans.

19 years old Soloarez is a new kid on the block who always has a niche for remixing Kenyan Tracks in  the smooth melodies of tropical house, deep house, progressive house  and chill  music. There’s a bunch of cool remixes on his Soundcloud.

Dua Lipa – New Rules (Yoki Hars & Sam Mbugua Remix)

Just 1 day old on this date, this track combines two of the most energetic entities on the scene. The Yoki Hars just had their No Vaffles EP  out just a week ago and now this… Damn, sons! Sam Mbugua just goes Hybrid Trap heavy!! and by ‘heavy,’ I mean HEAVY!

Hendrick – Snow Flake

Hendrick never disappoints. A new release this July, this track is like prescription. You have to have it. It has a melodic jazzy influence that makes it a feel good jam.

Allie X – Paper Love (Ki_Mani Remix)

Ki_Mani’s on fire. This remix is so damn chill, man!
